Tourism can be defined as the temporary travel and accommodation activities of people from their current location to other places. Today, technological developments, the increase in people's welfare levels, and people's curiosity to discover new places have led to the development of the tourism industry. Countries are trying to use the resources they have to the fullest for the development of the tourism sector as a source of foreign exchange and employment. For this reason, alternative tourism opportunities are increasing day by day. One of these alternative tourism opportunities is sports tourism and winter tourism. Turkey is quite suitable for sports tourism and winter tourism with its geographical assets and natural beauties. In recent years, many investments have been made for winter tourism, and it is planned to continue these investments in the future. There are 51 ski resorts in Turkey, and one of them is Karabük Keltepe Ski Resort, which is the subject of this research. Keltepe Ski Resort, which was opened by the Ministry of Youth and Sports in January 2020, offers its visitors alternative tourism opportunities in addition to skiing. The center, which offers opportunities such as camping, mountaineering, cycling and nature walks, has the potential to accept visitors 12 months a year. In order for a ski resort to be a center of attraction, it must have certain criteria. The quality of the snow, the natural beauty of the area where the resort is located, the architectural structure of the service buildings and the accommodation facilities must be present. In touristic visits, the architectural structure of the touristic area and the places serving the tourists are as much a part of the tourism experience as the natural structure. Keltepe Ski Resort is a newly opened center and is open to development. It is thought that if the right planning and the right architectural structures are implemented, it will bring movement to the region in terms of sports tourism.
